About
Adam Bonosky is a licensed architect, certified planner, small business owner, and Village Trustee who enjoys talking about buildings and community design to any and all who are interested.
Adam enjoys living in the village and spending time with his wife and son, who teach him every day and make him laugh. As a father, he takes the decisions made on the board seriously, knowing that they will lay out the future for his and his neighbors’ families.
Growing up outside the village, Adam studied architecture at the University of Notre Dame and planning at the University of Miami in Florida. After living and working in Boston and Miami, he moved to the village with his family in 2020.
As a licensed architect and certified planner with 18 years of experience, he has worked on projects around the United States, helping communities chart a path to achieving their vision. He has collaborated to reconnect neighborhoods, create buildings that fit into their context, and establish smart growth policies at the state level. He has shared this expertise, speaking and leading workshops nationally and internationally. He volunteers on the Community Design Rochester Board, is Treasurer and Fellow of the Urban Guild, and serves on the Project Review Committee for the City of Rochester.
Elected to Village Board in 2022, Adam has worked with his colleagues to continue Fairport’s progress while also serving on the finance committee and acting as liaison to the Tree Board. New and improved crosswalks, more business openings, fully funded departments, a zoning code that reflects the design of our neighborhoods, more street trees and sidewalk improvements than the past two decades, and new green spaces have advanced Fairport’s upward momentum.
Adam is excited to build on this work in a second term, meet new challenges, and set a tone for a government that provides for the needs of today and tomorrow. This means ensuring our families continue to experience the benefits of improvements in Fairport. He will work to enhance the quality of life with wise investments and responsible budget management. He will advocate for strategies that keep Fairport affordable for people at all stages of life. He will establish small projects that further engage with our residents and make our neighborhoods even more unique. Adam will continue to advance our walkability and bikeability so that families feel even more comfortable getting around the village. He will establish a Sustainability Committee to ensure that our future residents can enjoy the village.
Adam is looking forward to improving together as one Fairport into the future.
