About

Heidi Woika was elected to serve as Village Trustee in 2023 and is finishing her third year on the Board and second year as Deputy Mayor. She has continued partnering with elected officials at the town and federal levels to address and maintain the level of service provided and expected in the Village of Fairport. Heidi and her husband moved to the Village of Fairport in 2009 to raise their family in a community with great schools, great people, and a positive atmosphere.

After finishing her undergraduate degree in Exercise Science and Athletic Training from Ithaca College, Heidi earned a Masters Degree in Athletic Training from West Virginia University while working as Head Athletic Trainer for Fairmont High School in Fairmont, WV.  Heidi worked as a Certified Athletic Trainer for 20 years in DI and DIII colleges, Maui High School and interned with the Pittsburgh Pirates. In her various positions, she coordinated medical insurance programs, managed inventory, participated in data collection for national concussion studies and provided individualized orthopedic and concussion care to a variety of tudent-Athletes and teams.

Throughout her Athletic Training career, she routinely volunteered Athletic Training services at the Empire State Games and countless other races and events.  After retiring from her career as an Athletic Trainer, she was a crew member at Trader Joe’s for five years working in the art department, helping train new crew members and managers, and provided a positive shopping experience for all customers in the store.

As a 17 year resident of the Village of Fairport, Heidi has volunteered with Canal Days, Fairport Farmers Market, Color Fairport Green and in addition to helping coach her kids' athletic teams, she volunteers with scouting events and the Fairport HS Robotics team.  Heidi lives with her husband Jon, their three sons, Jonah, Henry and Ethan and a variety of pets.

As Trustee, Heidi had supported the addition of crosswalks, the Main Streetscape project, addition of green spaces, parks, full funding of the Fairport PD and Fairport Fire Department and the Character-Based Zoning Code update that brings flexibility to our village while maintaining our historical character.  She also supports the well-planned financial decisions and transparent budgeting process that has earned the village a AA Bond rating and has kept taxes low as prices for materials and healthcare have skyrocketed.

As Mayor, Heidi will continue to support the priorities of community safety, transparency, walkability, bikability, community building, and responsible decision making to plan for the future of the Village of Fairport and its residents.
